  2. For more stubborn stains, use a good quality streak free glass cleaner as per the manufacturer’s recommendation. You may also use Methylated Spirit on a soft cloth, using a circular cleaning motion being careful not to rub too hard.
  3. Repeat first step: Wipe down using a damp soft cloth containing warm soapy water, followed by drying using a soft or microfibre cloth so as not to leave any residue on the panel. Always ensure that you refer to the recommendations provided by the cleaning product manufacturer before use.

The below-mentioned tips should be referred to as general care tips/guidelines only. Please seek professional help when you are unsure how to deal with a cleaning/maintenance issue. Contact us and we will guide you to a suitable service provider, to the best of our ability.

Select an inconspicuous area to test and make sure that the cleaning product or process has no ill effect on the furniture before you use it on the entire product. Mobilia will not be responsible for any damage occurring due to faulty maintenance or use of wrong care products.

a. Wipe the leather furniture down regularly with a clean, dry cloth. The basic care routine for leather upholstery is simply wiping the furniture down with a dry soft cotton cloth. This will remove dust from the leather and keep it looking its best.

b. Vacuum dust and debris from the furniture’s crevices. Just as with any other piece of upholstered furniture, the best way to remove the dust and debris that gradually builds up in crevices and under cushions is by using your vacuum’s hose attachment. Do not press down to hard and scratch the surface with the hose.

c. Apply a leather conditioner regularly. Leather conditioners are products that have a creamy consistency and are designed to be rubbed into the leather. Conditioning the leather regularly keeps it from drying out and developing cracks. Leather conditioner is available at supermarkets/ stores.

d. Application guidelines will vary from product to product. In general, you should expect to condition your leather furniture once every 6 to 12 months.

e. Clean spills immediately with a dry cloth. When anything is spilled onto the leather upholstery, wipe it away as soon as possible. Use a dry cloth or sponge to absorb as much of the spilled liquid as possible, only resorting to a moistened cloth if necessary. Use as little water as possible to clean the spill, and wipe the area dry afterward.

f. Avoid soaking the leather in water or soap. Leather should never be cleaned by prolonged soaking in soap or water. Doing this can damage the leather.

g. Avoid using any cleaning products not designed for leather. Detergents, solvents, all-purpose cleaning sprays, ammonia, bleach, and furniture polish can all be harmful to leather furniture. Do not use these products to clean the furniture or remove stains. Rely on dry towels or sponges as much as possible.

h. Keep leather furniture out of direct sunlight. Note that intense, direct sunlight can cause the leather to dry out and fade in color. Try to keep your leather furniture positioned away from windows where it will be exposed to the sun.

a. Most leathers are susceptible to fading in direct sunlight. Keep them out of it as much as possible.

b. Though pull-up leather will repel some moisture, water, oils and other liquids can eventually stain it. Keep moisture off of these leathers or dry them by tapping out stains with a soft, dry cloth.

c. Wipe evenly using a damp cloth to clean over an entire seat or arm section of the leather from seam to seam. Avoid pressing hard in one small area. Then buff to a shine with a dry cloth.

d. Ink, markers, and other dyes are difficult to remove from pull-up leathers. Keep them away from these leathers and call or e-mail us for professional help if ink or dye stains occur on these leathers.

e. Cuts, deep scratches, and punctures are also difficult to repair in pull-up leathers. Be careful of sharp objects and call or e-mail us for professional help if you have such a damage.

Mobilia will not be responsible for any damage occurring due to faulty maintenance or use of wrong care products.

a. There should be no polish (with or without silicon) used on whitewash finish surfaces.

b. Tablecloths, runners and table pads are available and provide the most protection during regular and heavy use of your dining table.

c. Hot pads should always be used when placing warm serving dishes on a tabletop. Very hot items such as a saucepan/baking dish should never be placed on a tabletop directly.

d. Placemats will help to protect the finish from dishes and silverware, and coasters will help protect your furniture from moisture or stains.

e. Tablecloths and table pads provide the most protection from UV (ultra-violet) light, which causes the finish to fade and deteriorate and may even bleach the wood.

f. Always use a protective pad when writing with a ballpoint pen on the furniture surface.

g. Placing your furniture away from windows or blocking direct sunlight will help to protect your furniture from the damaging UV rays.

h. Felt will protect your tabletops from scratches when used on the bottom of lamps, vases and other accessories. Always lift items from a tabletop, avoid sliding items across a tabletop as this can abrade and scratch the finish and in extreme cases, the wood surface below.

i. Be sure to place a candle stand or tray underneath the candle to collect any melted wax that may drip or run down the candle.

j. Never place burning candles on a finished wood surface. As the candle burns down and the wax melts, it can generate and transfer enough heat to damage the finish and wooden surface.

k. Avoid using household solvent-based products such as fingernail polish and polish removers around an unprotected finished surface. In case of spills, blot the spill immediately, do not wipe as this will spread the spill and may cause further damage.

l. Cleaning and Polishing – Cleaning of furniture should be done with a soft lint free cotton cloth dampened with water or furniture polish following the pattern of the grain. Cleaning your furniture with a dry rag can cause scratches to the finish. Use a light touch and rotate your cleaning cloth frequently.

FABRIC CARE

FABRIC CARE INFORMATION SHEET

The below-mentioned tips should be referred to as general care tips/guidelines only. Please seek professional help when you are unsure how to deal with a cleaning/maintenance issue. Contact us and we will guide you to a suitable service provider, to the best of our ability.

Select an inconspicuous area to test and make sure that the cleaning product or process has no ill effect on the furniture before you use it on the entire product. Mobilia will not be responsible for any damage occurring due to faulty maintenance or use of wrong care products.

a. It is important to vacuum the fabric upholstery. This will remove the dirt and dust which, when wet, can further dirty your couch if it is not removed first. Use an upholstery attachment to get in all the cracks and crevices, and to thoroughly clean all the cushions.

b. In addition, remove as much pet hair as possible. If a vacuum itself does not seem to get it all, try a pet hair remover. Or use sticky tape/duct tape to catch the pet hair.

c. In case of fresh spills, you don’t want that spill to soak into the furniture fabric, foam or wooden structure. Therefore, the first thing to do when any spill occurs is to blot (not scrub or rub) the spill up with a white soft cloth as quickly as possible to minimize the spread of the stain, and to keep it from spreading into a larger area. Blotting is the most crucial technique to handle spillage.

d. Avoid rubbing the fabric to remove stain or spillage as the stain may set in deeper or the fabric may pill and loosen.

e. Stain removal or spot cleaning is tricky and it is best left to professionals. Get professional cleaning assistance. By cleaning the stain or treating the fabric with a wrong cleaner you may aggravate the damage to the fabric.
